Mammoth Lakes and June Lake region in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The Eastern Sierra's towns of Mammoth Lakes, June Lakes and surrounding areas weathered a historical and record producing winter snowfall that carried over into the summer. Horseshoe Lake has for years been a shrinking puddle of water but is now nearly full to capacity and lined with snow and ice late into June.
