Dozens of atmospheric river storms slammed into Mammoth Lakes and left the town buried and still digging out late into April, 2023.

Mammoth Mountain and Mammoth Lakes, California saw a record amount of snow fall in the winter and early spring of 2022-2023. Over 700 inches of snow fell on Mammoth Mountain. A wooden statue of a bear waving hello peeks out from the melting snow on Old Mammoth Road.
