Life in Los Angeles took a turn toward more severe isolation after the mayor ordered schools, gyms, restaurants and non-essential businesses closed and that everyone social distance.
My wife and I walked into the hills at the end of our street. Ironically, these hills were the site of the last disaster when the Woolsey fire burned the area. As we walked, the metaphors seemed everywhere, from signs calling for "Faith" and "Hope" to an uphill section that appeared to lead into an oncoming storm.
