New United States citizens are solicited to join the Democratic or Republican parties as they leave the naturalization ceremony.

Both political parties set up tables immediately outside the ceremony where they battle to register them in time to vote in the 2016 election. The LA Times reported a 32% increase in citizenship applications over the same time last year.
