Enjoying outdoor recreation during summer in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The Hot Creek Geologic Site is located only a few miles from Mammoth Lakes, CA. The hot springs, or geothermal pools, bubble and spew from the creek, reminding visitors that hot magma is located only a few miles from the surface. The meandering creek is open to fishing but the areas around the hot springs are closed due to danger.
