Injured military veterans from all over the United States and representing the Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines and Coast Guard gathered in San Diego, California for the annual National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic. With injuries ranging from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) to quadriplegics, the veterans, mostly from Iraq and Afghanistan wars, learned how to surf, kayak, bicycle, sail and compete in track & field. The clinic and competition is put on by the Veterans Administration.
